'08 - '09 Club Rides

Please be patient while our slideshows load.

Send in your ride photos! Don't forget to provide information about who, what, when, and where! We'll try to get as many on as possible.

February 25, 2009 - John and I took off Wednesday morning and dropped off at Two Guys. We rode up to Florence and bombed around a bit before heading back to Two Guys for dinner. Great Pizza! The trails were unbelievable! I think that by far they were the best conditions we have ever ridden on! They were smooth and fast! Why can't we get that kind of snow around here???

February 21, 2009 - Andy Wargo, Dave Samons, and Steve Baird took these pictures from Sat AM ride -- leaving Camden heading north they found lots of SNOW ! ! Other pictures are of a cabin at Highmarket The Hideaway from outside and one from inside looking out the parking area at the DPW in Camden.

February 21, 2009 - These pictures were sent in by Aaron Burnham and were taken from the Tug Hill area. Obviously there was TONS OF SNOW! These pictures, with the exception of the groomer, were at his friends camp in Barns Corners.  The groomer passed them on Little John Road at the intersection to Redfield.

February 21, 2009 - Last minute change to the riding schedule took us up to Fair Haven today. Trails were a bit iffy in a few spots but for the most part trails were great. Especially up through Cato to Fair Haven. Not sure what happened to the snow once we got there! Decided to take a few pics at the old barns on the way home.

February 6, 2009 - A few of us took the afternoon off and rode down to Cortland for lunch at Applebee's. What an AWESOME ride!! The trails were groomed and perfect the entire trip. It was smooth sailing! The sun came out and it was a perfect day riding. Can I say it again?? AWESOME!!!

January 31, 2009 - We had Plan A and Plan B rides for today. We went with Plan B - riding to Gatherings Restaurant in Virgil. This turned out to be one of if not the best ride so far this year for us! The trails were awesome and the views even better. There is a huge hill headed toward Dryden that looks like a ski slope. It felt like one too when we came back down it! We did have a couple incidents - one of our riders "fell off his sled" and cut his leg. Another shredded a belt. Notice how many guys it takes to change a belt! We will definitely do this ride again!

January 24, 2009 - We decided to take the long way (for us) to Fair Haven today. We rode through Jack's Reef, Plainville, Meridian and Cato. We stopped at TC's for lunch and then headed up to Fair Haven. We took a few pics and then headed back home. The ride was great - a few too many moguls, but still a lot of fun!

January 21, 2009 - We rode to Pizza Hut in Baldwinsville today for lunch. What a fun ride. Our group hadn't been that direction yet.

January 17, 2009 - A group of us met up at the gas station in Skaneateles for a ride south. Our plans were to head to the Pizza Hut in Cortland for lunch, but we ended up at Applebee's instead. Trail conditions were awesome! On the way down we met up the members of the club doing trail work. Thank you for all your hard work, especially on such a cold day!

January 10, 2009 - Our plans for today were to head to Labrador Mountain for lunch. Well, our ride almost didn't happen at all. It started out with me ending up in a mucky creek and having to get pulled out. Thanks guys! Sorry, no pics of that, no one dared make a bad situation worse. From that point the ride went well until we took a couple wrong turns down south and Bruce somehow took us down a groomer only trail. It ended up being a horrible mud bog. No pics of that either, at that point we were all on edge! We finally made it to Labrador, we quick ate and headed back home. Hopefully we won't have anymore days that that!

January 9, 2009 - John and I took a quick ride down to Bear Swamp to have lunch at the Colonial Lodge. What a beautiful day! The riding was fast and the snow was deep. John got a kick out of the snow drifts. The pictures don't do them justice.

January 3, 2009 - A group of us decided to go for a short ride down to Bear Swamp. The trails ended up being great and we got there faster than we had anticipated. We decided to head to Song Mountain for lunch instead. After lunch we swung back home going through Marcellus. It was a great day and great riding!

January 1, 2009 - Our destination for today was Applebee's in Cortland. The trails were great in most areas, but we did run into some spots with light snow and the ever dreaded mud/water holes. Shortly after we headed out we met up with the groomer so we grabbed a couple shots of it. We made a pit stop at the Colonial Lodge in Bear Swamp and then continued on to head to Cortland. We called out the "Trail Maintenance Crew" to remove a fallen tree blocking the trail. Once removed we headed on to Applebee's in Cortland for lunch. See pictures below for the adventures of part of our group that missed meeting up with us in the morning.

January 1, 2009 - Whoa! Didn't expect this! Craig Reith and friends were heading out to meet the rest of the gang for a ride down to Cortland and they ran in to a bit of trouble behind Jordan-Elbridge High School. Looks were deceiving in this corn field! After getting themselves and their sleds out, they headed home and then back out to head to Cortland. Word has it the trail has now been re-routed to avoid the water hole!

December 23, 2008 - Today we rode north up to Fair Haven. We had lunch at the Little Sodus Inn. Trails were great. We ran into a bit of trouble with an irrate landowner as we left the Inn. She recently purchased the property and doesn't want anyone riding on it. We have spoken with the local club and the Mayor. Trail has been re-routed.

December 20, 2008 - A few of us met up and rode south to Bear Swamp. Trails were great and it was beautiful out! We stopped at the Colonial Lodge for lunch. On the way back we met up with the groomer as it was taking its maiden voyage. See the Groomer and Trail Info page for the pictures.
